4 WEEK LEARN TO ROW SESSION - Sweep Classes

Week 1: We start out on our rowing machines to learn the basics of the stroke. From there,, our program moves to the training barge, which provides a stable platform to learn on the water. The coach will focus on basic technique of the stroke.

Week 2: You’ll continue to “fine tune” the basics of the stroke. The dedicated Learn to Row coach will instruct you on proper boat and equipment handling and safety information, and you will begin to transition from the barge to a rowing shell.

Week 3: You’re in a rowing shell and the coach will work on your technique and get you rowing by 4’s and 6’s.

Week 4: Now that you’ve learned the basics, it’s time to row together as a crew and continue to build your rowing skills.

4 WEEK LEARN TO ROW SESSION - Sculling Classes

Week 1: We start out on our rowing machines to learn the basics of the stroke. From there, you’ll advance to our Edon Training Singles. Don’t worry, they have pontoons!

Week 2: You’ll continue to “fine tune” the basics of the stroke. The dedicated Learn to Row coach will instruct you on proper boat and equipment handling and safety information, and you will begin to feel how your body motions impact the rowing stroke.

Week 3: You’re progressing and the coach will discuss removing the pontoons. At this stage, flipping the single is possible - don’t worry though! Should this happyen, you’ll get wet and the coach will help get you back into the boat.
